BIOGRAPHY OF GARY BYRAM
I was saved in 1970 at the age of 27. In 1974 God called me into the ministry. My pastor, Gerald Thompson asks me to come on his staff as his first assistant pastor. After four years working as the assistant pastor of the Bay View Baptist Church in East Peoria, filinois, God called me to start a church in Bradenton, Florida.
In the fall of 1978 we started the Bible Baptist Church of Bradenton. We first met in a home, which we out-grew in a couple of weeks. The Lord then provided us a prime location, a bank building right next to the Bradenton mall. In six months we were averaging over 180 on Sunday mornings
Again we looked for another place to meet. And again the Lord provided us an excellent place. We found an empty recreation hall located a little east of Bradenton city limits. For two years the Lord blessed us over and over. The church grew to an average of over 300.
In the summer of 1980 we purchased 29 acres of land not to far from we were meeting. Through the hard work and sacrifice of some very wonderful people we were able to move into a new building in the spring of 1981.
I had the privilege to pastor Bible Baptist Church for over 25 years. Through out the history of BBC, God has blessed us in a very marvelous way. When I resigned we were averaging a little over 500 in Sunday morning attendance, to God be the glory!
Our church has supported Camp Tracey for over 20 years. And I have had the privilege of serving on the advisory board for most of these 20 years. As I got more involved with Camp Tracey, God begin to speak to me about spending more time in helping to salvage the lives of troubled teens.
In January of 2004. I resigned my church and became the staff evangelist and national representative of Camp Tracey Ministries. I now go to churches across America raising awareness of and support for Camp Tracey.
